Arka created Baahubali — still the benchmark against which every Indian epic is measured. Baahubali 2 (2017) at ₹1,810 Cr WW was the highest-grossing Indian film until Pushpa 2 surpassed it in 2024. More importantly, Baahubali proved that a Telugu film, told with the right scale and ambition, could command North India and global audiences — the template every pan-India South film since has followed. The franchise IP (animated series, OTT extensions) remains valuable even in the absence of a new theatrical entry. Arka has been deliberately quiet since Baahubali 2 — the next announcement will carry enormous weight.
